Standard of Access
Access to the saddle at Vonfidel Ranch is governed by standards, not by demand. This framework supersedes individual preference, expectation, or commercial pressure. Horses, land, staff, and guests are held to the same discipline.
1. Purpose of Access
Vonfidel Ranch is not a high-volume riding attraction. It is a private equestrian estate built around welfare, discipline, and quiet authority. Riding access exists to protect horses, preserve land, and uphold standards that cannot be compressed for convenience.
2. Numbers and Group Composition
Rides are intentionally small. Six riders is an upper limit, not a target. Numbers are determined by horse condition, terrain, rider alignment, and environmental factors.
3. Entry Paths
Access pathways are distinct and enforced. Signature riding holidays are reserved for riders who meet readiness and conduct standards. Introductory horsemanship pathways exist separately and are never merged for convenience.
4. What Happens After You Apply
- Your application is reviewed by the Ranch team
- We write back with guidance and suggested riding holiday options, shaped by standards and availability
- Guests are welcome to contact us on WhatsApp for clarification at any stage
- Access is confirmed and riding holiday arrangements are finalised
5. Horse Welfare & Rotation
Horses are never scheduled around bookings. Bookings are shaped around the horses. Rotation, rest, and readiness override expectation at all times.
6. Conduct & Disqualification
Access is conditional on conduct. Decisions made in the field are final and not subject to debate.
- intoxication
- disrespect toward staff or horses
- unsafe behaviour
- refusal to follow instruction
7. Safety & Field Authority
Guides and wranglers retain full authority to modify or terminate rides when safety or welfare requires it.
8. Discretion
Conditions change. The Ranch exercises real-time discretion to protect horses, riders, and land.
9. The Agreement
By riding at Vonfidel Ranch, guests agree to respect horses as partners, accept professional judgement, and move through the land with restraint.
